Prelude (2024)

Prelude is a documentary project with image and audio that documented my interaction with my peers and fragments of our ongoing conversations, unpacking past experiences that made us who we are today and what we envision ourselves in the future.

With this combination of powerful, statuesque images, paired with intimate and vulnerable audio recordings, I want to showcase the duality that we all embody as we live through and experience our twenties.

Duality Of Being (2023)

“Duality of Being''is an ongoing photojournalism project that documents the young adults living and studying in Canada as international students. This project includes written words in their own native language and environmental portraits in either location or clothes that bring them comfort or familiarity. Being an international student faces many challenges such as expensive tuition, loss of connection to homeland, long process of Permanent Residency application, in addition to the unequal benefits like medical insurance and work opportunities. Unlike second generation immigrants trying to re-learn their origin, us as international students try our best to maintain connection to our homeland.

Friendly Strangers (2022)

I documented four of my friends in a space that they spend most of their time in. I focused on capturing the peace of mind that they embodied, without minimum direction and intervention in posing. This project is an experimentation about factors like: distance, privacy and intimacy. Digitalized darkroom prints.
